Election Times & Location

OK, time to share the official time & place of this year's elections. The easy & efficient thing would have been to schedule them at the plants, like we do every year, but that didn't happen. Elections will be held at the union hall this year. The official word from the hall is that they decided to have the election there just in case we were on strike by then, since the hearing on the company's 1113/1114 motion will be held around May 8 & 9. That, to me, stinks kind of like the brown material my dogs leave for me to clean up in the backyard. Chances are better that they feel that certian officials that the hall supports could fare better in the election (hmmm...I wonder who that could be???) if it's held at the hall. You can decide for yourselves.

However, here is all of the information you need to get your butts down to the hall...

The Presidents office informed us on April 26th, 2006 that the voting times for this year's election will begin on:

THURSDAY, MAY 18, 2006. Polls will open at 10:00a.m.

and remain open until FRIDAY, MAY 19th, 10:00a.m. Polls will close.

EMPLOYEES CAN ONLY VOTE DURING THIS 24 HOUR WINDOW!

Absentee ballots may be picked up starting on May 11th down at the union hall!


Nothing quite like making it exceedingly difficult for your membership to get out the vote, huh?
