It's Almost Like Seeing My Name in Lights...

Well, almost. I have to say, I didn't notice myself, but something was brought to my attention yesterday. Let's see if you can see what I mean. Here's a paragraph from this month's union newspaper, more specifically, the Shop Chairman's Report...

"This bankruptcy action by Delphi Corporation will in some way affect everyone's life. It's critical that the membership if the IUE-CWA make the decisions that they will be called upon to make based on the facts and not based on rumors, misinterpreted news media reports, phony web sites or political posturing."

Did you miss it? Our Shop Chairman seems to be trying to mention my humble little home in his report for this month ("phony web sites"). Awww...I'm flattered, really. The hall apparently cares deeply about my little slice of heaven here. So much so that, this month alone, I've gotten a letter from the President's office (certified mail, no less), and now a shout out in the Local 717 Union News.

I must be moving up in the world. Pardon me while I go and celebrate my new found celebrity with a hot, steaming cup of joe...

You deserve an award for this outstanding website, this little oasis in an ocean of political misinformation and ne'er-do-wells. Those poorly informed individuals down at The Onion Hall better wake up. There's a hell of a lot of serious work to be done. We do ours on the shop floor every day and we elect individuals to, we assume, capably represent us; when their personal agendas and posturing begin to interfere with daily business, we should all be offended. This kind of behavior will be exposed for what it is, my friend. Shenanigans from anyone perceived to be even a little untruthful, shall be revealed in all their glory. See, Glenn, it's not that complicated. Hey, we're all in this together. We'll stand behind our union leaders, always vigilant, always watching, suffering NO foolishness. Now let's get this crisis with Delphi resolved. Only then shall we raise a piping hot tankard o' Starbucks
skyward with a mighty "that's what I'm talking 'bout".
Here's to our turning over a new leaf from within our union. Good luck to Andy, Rob, and Bill!

Shenanigans! Oh, sorry, I was having a 'South Park' flashback there for a moment. And, I say again, Mmmm...Starbucks...
